For this recipe, all you need is just saute pumpkin and sweet potato. It is a very simple dish, but you can enjoy the sweet taste of pumpkin and sweet potatoes with just a little seasoning. The smell of soy sauce will make you hungry.

Basic Recipe:

  • 200 g of pumpkin
  • 150 g of sweet potato
  • 3 to 6 g of sugar
  • 5 to 6 drops of (Koikuchi) soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Optional recipe:

  • 200 g of pumpkin
  • 150 g of sweet potato
  • 2 teaspoons of (Koikuchi) soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sesame seeds

    Basic recipe:

    1. Cut the sweet potatoes into 5 millimeter widths, half circles or quarter-round slices. Soak them in the water for a while.
    2. Cut pumpkin into 5 millimeter widths, almost the same size as the sweet potatoes. Put sweet potatoes and pumpkin into a microwave for one and a half minutes at 600 watts. Mix them up and put them back into a microwave for the same amount of time.
    3. Saute the sweet potatoes and pumpkin with olive oil. When both sides turn a nice color, add the sugar and shake the pan to make sure sugar is even distributed. Just before it's done, pour in the soy sauce and mix well.

    Optional  recipe:

    1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from the basic recipe.
    2. Mix the maple syrup and soy sauce together.
    3. Saute the pumpkin and sweet potatoes with olive oil until they turn golden brown.
    4. Add the maple syrup and soy sauce mixture into the pan and cook with lid on for a while to steam the vegetables. Be sure to shake it the pan every so often.
    5. When the pumpkin and sweet potatoes are cooked, remove the lid and keep roasting the mixture until the sauce thickens.
    6. After plating the dish, sprinkle sesame seed.
