Introduction:

This extremely famous Italian appetizer is made from cheese, tomato and basil with some seasonings. However, you can also use tofu instead of cheese to make it taste great and be very healthy! It is nice to have as a salad, and also nice with wine.

Ingredients:

Option 1

  • 1/2 package Firm tofu
  • 1/2 tomato
  • a few leaves of basil
  • Olive oil to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Tamari Soy sauce to taste☆

Option 2

  • 1 Avocado
  • 3/5 ounce / 100 grams firm tofu
  • 2 teaspoons Tamari Soy sauce☆
  • Salt to taste

☆If you can't get Tamari soy sauce, regular soy sauce would be fine as a substitution.

Instructions:

Option 1

  1. Cut the tofu into very thin slices and sprinkle salt on one side of the tofu.

  2. Cut the tomato and put in on the tofu.
  3. Put the basil on the tomato.
  4. Continue building as many states as you want.
  5. Once all stacks are completed, put olive oil, black pepper, and soy sauce on top as a dressing.

Option 2

  1. Cut the avocado into wedges and tofu into 1 centimeter widths.
  2. Put the avocado and the tofu by turn on a plate.

  3. Sprinkle with salt and put on the soy sauce.
