Introduction:
For this recipe, all you need is just saute pumpkin and sweet potato. It is a very simple dish, but you can enjoy the sweet taste of pumpkin and sweet potatoes with just a little seasoning. The smell of soy sauce will make you hungry.
Ingredients:
Basic Recipe:
- 200 g of pumpkin
- 150 g of sweet potato
- 3 to 6 g of sugar
- 5 to 6 drops of (Koikuchi) soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Optional recipe:
- 200 g of pumpkin
- 150 g of sweet potato
- 2 teaspoons of (Koikuchi) soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup or honey
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of sesame seeds
Instructions:
Basic recipe:
- Cut the sweet potatoes into 5 millimeter widths, half circles or quarter-round slices. Soak them in the water for a while.
- Cut pumpkin into 5 millimeter widths, almost the same size as the sweet potatoes. Put sweet potatoes and pumpkin into a microwave for one and a half minutes at 600 watts. Mix them up and put them back into a microwave for the same amount of time.
- Saute the sweet potatoes and pumpkin with olive oil. When both sides turn a nice color, add the sugar and shake the pan to make sure sugar is even distributed. Just before it's done, pour in the soy sauce and mix well.
Optional recipe:
- Follow steps 1 and 2 from the basic recipe.
- Mix the maple syrup and soy sauce together.
- Saute the pumpkin and sweet potatoes with olive oil until they turn golden brown.
- Add the maple syrup and soy sauce mixture into the pan and cook with lid on for a while to steam the vegetables. Be sure to shake it the pan every so often.
- When the pumpkin and sweet potatoes are cooked, remove the lid and keep roasting the mixture until the sauce thickens.
- After plating the dish, sprinkle sesame seed.
